Software to focus and be mindful at work
What is your company going to make? Please describe your product and what it does or will do.
Beams is a Mac Menu Bar App that helps product team members reduce distractions and increase focus. Integrating with SaaS tools and leveraging AI, Beams learns about a user’s work routine and context (e.g. important people, projects and urgency of messages). With this knowledge Beams suggests focus sessions where a user can work distraction-free and won’t miss anything important. It also reminds users to take breaks at the right time. Through shortcuts a user can blaze through incoming requests (messages, emails, notifications) one after another in a prioritized order.
The way we work today is determined by constant context switches and distractions. We struggle to find focus and get work done, which leaves us feeling unaccomplished at the end of the day. This is a productivity problem and negatively affects our mental health as we experience higher levels of stress.
We are building mindful software. Through Beams, our early users save time, are more focused and feel less stressed. ****Our overall goal is to help people work better, not more. ****

Before we decided to work on Beams, we ideated and prototyped a solution for sharing asynchronous voice updates through a Slack app. It allows team members to work without interruptions by listening to updates when and wherever it suits them best.
